Biography
Leigh is a native of Tuscaloosa having graduated from Central High School in 1995 and the University of Alabama, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1999. While at the University of Alabama, Leigh majored in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and minored in Political Science. She was an active member of Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity, the Public Relations Student Society of America, the UA Student Recruitment Team, and she also served as a hostess for the University of Alabama baseball team. After graduating from Alabama, Leigh spent nearly ten years working in State politics in Montgomery, Alabama, serving as Deputy Finance Director on the Alabama Education Lottery Campaign, Deputy Policy Director to former Governor Don Siegelman, and Communications Director for Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley. While in Montgomery, Leigh furthered her education at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, where she served on the editorial board of the Jones Law Review and as a charter member and President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She received the Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate from Jones Law School, evidencing a concentrated course of study on various dispute resolution options, including mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiation, a skill which has been invaluable in her current practice.
Upon graduating from law school and successfully obtaining her law license, Leigh returned to her hometown in 2008. After gaining valuable experience a local law firm, Leigh began Snodsmith Law in 2016, with a goal of focusing exclusively on the areas of family law and juvenile law. Since returning to Tuscaloosa, she has served her community as a board member and President of Turning Point, a non-profit organization serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She has also served as a member of the Alumni Advisory Committee for the Alabama Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Alabama. She has been recognized as one of Alabama’s top attorneys in the field of family law by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Leigh is certified to represent children as a Guardian ad Litem both Circuit and Juvenile Courts in Alabama. She is admitted to practice law before all state and municipal courts in the State of Alabama, as well as in federal court in the Eleventh Circuit, Northern District of Alabama.
Leigh is a member of Tuscaloosa Presbyterian Church where her husband Blake serves as deacon. They live in Tuscaloosa with their two children, Cooper and Emily, and their two golden retrievers, Scout and Rocket.
